Literature Text

Was that a whisper in the trees?
A howl from the forrest?
Do the leaves speak to me this night?
Which direction was it from?
The wolf, his growl penetrates all thoughts,
His pawprints not too far away.
Flee, my Creature, flee,
You cannot win this day.

What do you need now, enemy?
What part of me is to be scorned next?
My ally dead, my Creature captured,
What more do I have?
Perhaps my villagers are your next target.
Would you do such a thing?
You side with my Nemesis,
I do not put it past you.

I see the coward inside of you,
You could never face me at my full strength.
Weaken me, and follow orders,
See if you could become your own.
Have you tried, enemy?
Can you breathe without bowing down to another?
Such chains you allow to hang around your limbs,
Such restrictions you put yourself up to.

I'll fight you this day -- fight, but not kill.
I am not the monster your ally is.
Would he know the definition of mercy?
Do you?
What thoughts do you think when nightfall comes?
What of the time of daybreak?
So many questions I have for you.
On the battlefield, perhaps I shall see.
I should probably stop procrastinating on my homework...

More poetry, this time for Lethys of Black and White, another of my favourites. A psychopath who I'm convinced has had one too many Break the Cutie moments. ...Or Haughty. Would explain his tree fetish.
